Most powerful road rego'd MX5 in Oz? NSW car with 357hp?

Postby Sean » Thu Nov 24, 2005 8:59 pm

Back to the old debate about who has the biggest dyno sheet.
Claims of 357hp, with a custom plenum, exhaust manifold, cam gears, BIG turbo this could well be the car to beat if Dyno racing is your thing?

It's also been out to WSID and I belive also runs in the 12s

got to run a mazda mx5 block and head (B6 or BP) for it to be classed as an mx5!
13b mx5s aren't in the same catagory!

Just caught up with a local club member whos put a mazda 323GTR (yes GTR) engine and turbo in, running off microtech engine management. results from the first tuning session netted 195 RWKW. :D
Interesting to see how power goes when the boost goes up from stock!!!!

Car above has run 11.5 so far with lots of wheelspin.
I could be wrong but I thought it was a stroked and bored BP?

Thats a beautifull custom plenum, what a car!!

How did he get a 2235CC? I though the max was 1995cc via flyin miata stroker kit? Any ideas? To go custom must have cost big $$$ ??

Its even got the gear box conversion!! WOW

Give me this over a brand new NC anytime :)

That engine is a stroked Mazda FE3, its a JDM, which we or the States didn't get.

Getting that capacity is easy, you just bolt in the 2.2ltr crank into the 2.0ltr Fe3.

Unfortunatly we only got the SOHC version as in the early 626's.

Cheers Rob

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
