Every time the dealer has flushed the cooling system in my car they take it for a drive after they've finished and give the car back to me with the coolant at the full mark. After I drive home and park it overnight the overflow bottle is always just about empty. So there must be a big air pocket in the SP cooling system somewhere that needs a good long drive to work its way out.

Garry, I took mine for a 3500km drive and that didn't seem to get all the air pockets out  I sat and watched the bubbles exiting the system for the whole 30 mins I let it idle for w/out the rad. cap and I was surprised at just how much air was leaving it. It was only the last 5 mins or so that it seemed to stop completely. It still doesn't make sense to me why the air pockets don't leave via the expansion tank though in normal driving!!??

I'll know for sure as of 24.04.08 at our next rack day how succesful this \"mod\" was.

seems there are gaps in the normal system as well, when I flushed my coolant after a day or 2 of driving the level was down past low, added more to the overflow and it hasn't moved since
