might just smash in an Adaptronic and a Wideband so I have some diagnostic capability...at least that is what I will tell myself...
Just so you're aware, by doing that you'll be making a heap more work for yourself since you'll need to tune it.
And to tune it you'll need to fix the misfire first anyway.
Adaptronics base tune isn't great, its enough to run ok, but the colt start and transient throttle are way, way off.
As in, their cranking fuel settings pretty much need to be ditched and start from scratch.
Year, just thinking out loud. The idea is to go an aftermarket ECU so I can nerd it up, then probably go a super charger for shits and giggles.
You are correct that I need to fix the bloody miss first anyway. Last trip out tonight for a while so I hope it goes well. Rego runs out tonight and tyres have been delayed. new ETA is the 16th of feb....so it will be a week or so till it is registered...such a pain.

I am thinking this will be the next thing. I was thinking about the COPS solution that MX5 Mania has, but then I need to purchase a tacho converter thingy as well and I am back to just leads...and plugs.

This issue this morning was dead cold, it ran OK when we put away yesterday after a good 30 minute drive home
So issue is now currently confined to cold running/warm-up - unserviceable NA6 ECU CTS commonly caused cold running/warm-up issues, but it could also be something else as NA6 cold start system also fairly regularly causes issues. Re plug leads, go to CoP.

how complicated do you want to make it. An earlier comment NA's kill leads - well it does over time and KLMs . I imagine the standard set up will work fine for normal driving duties.

Waiting on new tyres to come so I can get my pink slip and get my rego done, until them I am driving the Mrs patrol....
