Hi Wun. Hope you've got it going. This is my next job on the NA. Just wondered how you took out the old seals?

maybe you could get a mobile mechanic to take a look? We are all very interested to know why it will not start and if there was any step in the process that could have been improved upon.

so what was the wash up? What was the reason for the car not starting and running properly- what step if any was not done correctly - how does the crank angle sensor figure?

I have been interested in this thread as I'm about to do my timing belt - I was waiting for my rocker gasket which I'd ordered from "mikes place" in Pheonix - arrived five days after ordering. The good bit is though he told me of his you-tube presentation under "mikesplacebiz". Well worth a look for anyone doing this job.

I think when I gapped it (maunal says it must be 0.5 mm) to the crank, it died but im not compelty sure. I just know when I installed a new one it runs fine.

Re: NB8B timming belt change...
Hey Probably an old thread but are the BP engines in the MX-5 Non-interference (ie the valves won't die if you do the timing belt wrong or the timing belt snaps) I've seen alot of stuff that says the BP engines are but I've also seen stuff that says the MX-5 is not. HELP

Re: NB8B timming belt change...
BP is non-interference, but if the timing belt goes you will be stranded.
