remeber theres alot of stuff under the dash to take out too wun. almost as much wieght again between the fan and the vents theres the condensor or expansion chamber thingy!

also why go half ass? get rid of the power stering best mod to date. then the only thing the motor is turning other than the drive line is the alternator

I reckon you might be able to save half a kilo or so if you cleaned the dirt and crap out of the engine bay wun!

Go heaps fast then!

I have NA with no Air and No power Steer, I love it, it's light (till my fat ass gets in) and it's fast. (until my fat ass gets in)

let me borrow your motor :D
actually just give me 2 months

but yeah wun pull out the stuff under the dash. you will need to make a pipe to go inplace of where the expansion chamber used to be if you still want to use the fan. if you dont want that either than pull the fan out too :D it wieghs loads! electric motor and all... just buy LOADS of rainX or some sort of anti fog cause there wont be alot to stop you foggin up your excessivly hot car in the summer rain

With no AC on in the rain issue... I have found that if you set the vents to windscreen and vent hot air onto them... they don't get foggy as quickly
I think before I figured out to do this the windows would fog up in 15min or so... but after I did it... they took about 30 to fog up?
This could have been dependant on prevailing weather conditions too... but I like to think that it's following the same principle as the window demister?
if anything just bring a really really light rag to wipe it... if you can put up with the weight penalty...

Random thought... you don't drive naked do you wun...

Oh so its true there is more stuff under the dash!?!?

I hear lexan windows don't fog up?

I cant go nude on track rules say you must wear long sleves and long pants.

There are no rules that say you must have socks and jocks.

I'd imagine nothing in the rules stops you freeballing at club level but you will needs socks. Otherwise there's nothing between your long pants and boots. You can get rid of the A/C element behind the glovebox. It doesn't weigh much but it's not doing anything. There's a bolt on top of it that's pretty hard to remove though. Then you'll need to put the empty box back in. Otherwise there's no pipig to the HVAC. Or if your going the whole hog with no fan...you may as well delete the heater and fan unit.

wun, when pulling the rest of the bits out from under the dash, make sure you get the windscreen demister part working again, it is illegal in all states to NOT have the ability to blow air onto the windscreen. That is if your driving on the roads of course, race car would be a bit different i'd say

You won't have fogging issues if you have no windscreen.

no need for a metal frame
no wipers
no washer system
no need for a roof
side windows become useless, might as well pull them out too...
carpet is going to get wet. out it comes.

win!
OTOH you could just learn to drive faster, or I'll keep kicking your arse in a bog-standard car.
