Major engine problems, need some advice
Its been a while since my last post, its taken some time for my uncle to come round with the block and tackle but he finally came. Weve taken out the old motor, there were a few things we needed before we put the new motor in so ive been getting them all done and hopefully it will be in soon. An engine mount needed to be replaced, ive had the flywheel machined and it actually turned out to be a toda racing light weight flywheel which was pretty cool. Ive looked them up and there not cheap. Also the clutch looked a bit worn, so ive ordered an exedy HD cushion button clutch and it should be ready in a few days. Weve replaced the timing belt, water pump, camshaft oil seals, pulleys, accessory belts so im hoping i wont have much trouble with it. I'll be replacing the water pipes too as they look a bit worn. I will probably keep this motor for the next year or so, so im going to put the hks cams in it and tune it with the apexi computer for now. I think it will go alright. Then ill slowly start sending bits and pieces of the old motor away to get machined and preped. Im still not sure whether to go N/A or turbo as by the time its all going i will be nearing getting off my p's...im leaning towards turbo now lol. I'm still not sure bout the 1.6 engine either, whether to just go 1.8, but it has the stroked crank in it so its still decent for a 1.6. And if i do turbo it im thinking ill need to either run low boost or upgrade the box because it wont hold up, still decidin what to do lol.
