the amount of friggin around between selling and buying would be greater than asking the people that have done it and following their footsteps.

The Newcastle car is owned by members of the club who drive it super often and are VERY happy with it's performance fit and finish, I've discussed it woth them both a few times. It's an AVO kit with a few additional AVO goodies, very nice package and didn't break teh bank from what they tell me.
All the people talking about cars goign bang - In my experience that's usually the tune rather than the turbo kit itself - OR - as CT suggested some bad luck/bad parts, I seem to recall BJ had a bad run with his stock engine due to dodgy factory parts at some stage early in his cars developement.
If you want to check out the Newcastle I'm sure the owners would be more than happy to show you, they are regulars on Hunter Chapter and NSW club runs.
As a few have said, speak to the engineer BEFORE you spend any money!

Not wanting to start a COW but I'd be wanting to hear the good and the bad stories before handing over big $$$ myself. BJ's car has aftermarket parts in his engine and it seems ok.
