What is it?
The more you post
or
The longer you have been a member
The more upset you get if advise isn't taken as "Gospel"
Not everyone is going treat you like Gods....Live with it

Do what you want to do, ceramic coat and then make a post reviewing what you have done.
Before and after dyne plot
Exhaust gas temps before and after
Engine bay temps before and after
Intake temps before and after
Or make a seat of your pants assessment, we do care on here.

Cheap alternative - just stick some of this on the intake: ebay heat shield mat

Re: Would you ceramic coat extractors on a street-only MX5?
Just for the record....
I have ceramic coated a set of headers....and posted results(visual only at this stage), see link provided in my first post in this thread
I do not mind if my decision provides "bang for the buck" or not
but I'm more than Happy to share REAL information....for the use of those that care
Just need someone with equipment to collect the data
I can't afford the equipment to collect the data......
I've spent way too much on ceramic coated 2nd hand headers already....lol

So, other than the fact that you can't seem to post in the correct section ( along with quite a few others)
I can tell you of 3 people off the top of my head who run or have run coated extractors, not run of the mill hurricanes etc but real GS extractors,
and I don't know if it made any difference as I couldn't slow down enough for them to catch up, their names????
Ash Lowe, Ash Miller and Geoff Hume, all have won state 2f championships, 2 have won National championships and one is the fastest by about 5 seconds @ Bathurst
in a 2F MX5.
like I say who knows if it helped??? BUT one thing is for certain IT CERTAINLY DIDN'T HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does it make a difference YES, would I do it to my car, F^&K off, when I'm chasing the last 5 hp or .1 of a second @ EC maybe.

Speaking for 85% of the people in this thread.. Spend your money and stop pretending you aren't just looking for a justification. We don't care.
NitroDann, I know you are a well respected member of this community and you apparently know turbo mx5's better than anyone, but here's some advice; I'm just a fellow forum member asking for legit advice, and your blunt, rude response seems to be EXACTLY the reason why this forum has as many detractors as it has fans. There's no need to speak to people like that.

That is NitroDann, take him or leave him. Avoid engaging in discussions on authority or globalisation

Righteo then, I can only assume from NitroDann's equally antagonistic second comment above that sponsors can say what they want here to members. What a lovely way to treat your 'community'. I won't get into a war of words. It wouldn't be a fair fight.

NitroDann is blunt with everybody don't take it personally. NitroDann and I (as well as others) disagree on many things but he is professional, knowledgeable in his chosen field and opinionated. However I doubt NitroDann needs me to fight his battles

Madkeen: "ƒü¢k all of your experience and help, Im gonna do it anyway, its my money".
Forum: "Ok, thanks for asking us to spend our time helping you".
that's what just happened.

Re: Would you ceramic coat extractors on a street-only MX5?
Dann I do appreciate the 'free advice' I get here. I'm actually in AWE of how clever, handy and helpful people are on here. Look up any post I've ever written. EVER. You reacted poorly and even now you are carrying on like a porkchop instead of simply saying 'Sorry, I overreacted'. The concept you've invented that I somehow mortally insulted the senior ministers of this forum is utterly absurd. Have another read through the above thread - and the links it took me too - and you will see that i reacted positively and appreciatively to every response. Some people said get ceramic coating. Some said don't. Big deal! I just asked a question (which btw was rather different to the previous thread as I was asking specifically about road cars). Either way, was that a crime against humanity? Don't be a bully mate. We're all just here to appreciate mx5's.

There are 10 people in this thread and 8 feel the same way as i do.
One of the people is you, and the remaining person did the exact same thing you just did, and got the exact same reaction you just got, after asking the exact same question, only 2 weeks ago.
Infact here is the exact reaction he got after he did what you just did.
