Madjak the rb25 ratios are not actually that bad.

Mx5 5spd. Mx5 6spd. Rb25det r33. 350z/370z. VE SS Tremec6060. FG xr6 non turbo 6060
1)3.136. 1)3.760. 1)3.321. 1)3.794. 1)2.66. 1)3.36
2)1.888. 2)2.269. 2)1.902. 2)2.324. 2)1.78. 2)2.07
3)1.330. 3)1.646. 3)1.308. 3)1.624. 3)1.30. 3)1.35
4)1.000. 4)1.257. 4)1.000. 4)1.271. 4)1.00. 4)1.00
5) 0.814. 5)1.000. 5)0.759. 5)1.000. 5)0.74. 5)0.71
6)0.843. 6)0.794. 6)0.50. 6)0.57

Some problem with the tremec out of VE/VF/HSV is the rear tail shaft connection is not a slip yoke like mx5 gearbox.
Unsure of the fg xr6 non turbo tremec6060 looks like they have a different tail shaft connection possibly.
A local God rod shop in Vic who does conversions said the tremec 6060 do not lend them selves well for conversions as input shaft length can vary on which 6060 you get And output shaft on Commodores is not slip yoke. He said t56 from vy-VZ Commodores were the ones easiest to convert for different applications. But from memory the t56 isn't much of a slick shifting box compared to the mx5! He suggested t56 magnum which is a t56 body, but with the 6060 gear set and has the slip yoke rear.

I had looked at the v35/36 box as an option... Found a 370z v36 one for $1300 cheap cheap private sale in nsw.
I need a sponsor
