What was the prognosis and advice for the future?
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Prognosis ~ HLA noise - add Lifter Free to the engine oil to clean gunk, they also added some new coolant too. happy days!

When I bought the car over a year ago it had done very low klms for its age. From what the previous owner told me it sat for awhile in a garage not used and when he bought it he also got very little use. My son actually bought this car but we co-drive it as you do  Its so original and in perfect condition for its age the only thing that has been changed on it is the tyres, radio, tombstone, antenna from what we know. So the conclusion was oil sludge build up from using infrequently which is a common factor for this motor type.

Advise - if its a weekend runner then at least start it during the week and let it warm to an nice idle, in Brissy its been a bit cool of late and the car has had only short trips here and there without going on the highway so I dare say she caught a cold and clumped over.
