Is that the Torsen 1?

What if i was to put a 3.9 Torsen 2 in there (normally used for 6speed), what would happen?

If you put in a lower ratio, ie. 3.9 as opposed to 4.3, then the rear wheels turn slower and thus your speedo will be out, so you will need to swap the speedo-sender on the gearbox to compensate.

I'm not sure which torsen you are fitting. Most likely a torsen 2 right?

the torsen itself will probably not come with a crown wheel anyway. They'll most likley be using your existing one. Which is a 4.1:1 unless its been changed.
if its a 2nd hand torsen it may have a crown wheel fitted to it.

your acceleration is slightly less agressive. your geares will wind out a little longer.
I've gone from 4.3:1 to the 4.1:1 I quite like it.....but its at the expense of slighly quicker accelaeration
