BEGI Turbo Coolant Re-route Kit

Postby MX-5 Plus » Wed Jul 22, 2009 9:38 pm

This is the MX-5 Plus re-route spacer that forms part of the hot-side and cold-side kits we are developing. There are two types of spacers, one for B6 engines and one for BP engines. The B6 spacer has provision for the heater hose outlet, the coolant temperature sender and one for the thermofan switch which is relocated from the thermostat cover originally at the front of the engine. The BP spacer also has provision for the heater hose outlet, the coolant temperature sender and a spare port for a supplemental temperature sensor or switch if someone wants to supply information to a data logger because the BP ECU operates the thermofan.

Here are a couple of photos of the B6 version.

At this stage we don't have a set timeline for the completion of these kits, however we will sell the spacer at this point in time as long as the end user is happy to complete the rest of the re-route themselves. Once our kits are ready for sale, they will include all the necessary components as well as an in-depth photographic installation manual. To give you an idea of the finished product here are some pictures of a 'prototype' hotside kit we installed on Novice1's NB8A.

My racer uses a datsun 1600 thermo cover from stoopid cheap for the re-route with a straight bit of 32mm ally and 2 torana top hoses to join them all up. The bypass can come from a whole on the back of the block which has an M6 blocker in it. I route this to the recovery tank which is from a mazda 3. :)
