Oil Filter

bit weird but I have used a belt on filters on many cars and it works well and you need very little space. You do not need much force on a filter.

Actually, a remoter oil filter would be awesome, I had one in my R33 and was one of the best mods I did for maintenance work!

Anyone have a link or anything on where to get the remote oil filter/relocator kit?

OK, I think I should be able to work something out, thanks for all the ideas

And fuzzlet may have a point, only takes a few hours for me to get the engine out now lol

And a remote oil filter does sound good.

I got my remote filter kit from mania, but it was a bit pricey though at $200 before the dollar went up (and before I had a chance to shop around...)

As for the filter wrench, its a standard mazda part, so available from either them or mania. Certainly makes things a hell of a lot easier

i like the thought of them, but makes the engine bay a bit messy :oops:

+1 here. Don't worry about spilt oil - hit it with degreaser when your done and hose it off. 5 min job for me with big hands and arms, really easy with smaller appendages

Easiest way, no fiddiling around with wreches and all that.

I reckon it would take more work to install one of these than there is in about 10 years' worth of filter changes if you tightened them up properly in the first place. :roll:
