One fix is to take it to a competent welder to fill-in the notch with weld, then cut a new, exact, notch into it.

Why weld it? Just machine a new notch on the other side.

Could do, but I don't know if the fulcrum-ball is solid or hollow, and if it's hollow (for the most part) then maybe the only semi-solid section is where the notch is.
