Nooooo ... VERY VERY VERY sceptical about and of those "carbon" removal things, the Mrs got dupped into it once and it didn't make a difference.
Look on miata.net about some of the fixes.
One of two of them I could do in the driveway and it would take less than 30mins.
I'd rather give you a hand fixing them than have you piss money away.

Mine does this as well, very rarely though and mainly when it gets stupidly hot. My car overheats in summer on trackdays and when the gauge gets up there the idle will drop. Fixes itself when the car cools down again.

Might be better to try the cheap and easy Miata.net fixes first, see if that helps, if not then consider another solution.
