Hi SPX3.

Who did you get to fit n tune your EMU?
Do you know if EMU can handle 2001+ VVT?

NB8C's have vvt right?

and yeah where did you get yours tuned?

i got a quote from croydon racing developments for an emu, fitted and tuned for $1500, this sound decent?

in the previous autosaloon magazine, they got an extra 10kw atw from a stock dc5, if i can get something like that, i would be happy

Thats the Jap terminology. According to the year list it only covers NB8A's, up to June 2000, so no VVT

i looked around on ebay (u.s) & got a unused 2nd hand unit (lots of people buy greddy turbo kits but dont use the ecu) that cost me around the $500 dollar mark (cant remember exact price but i do have a thread on it somewhere) from there i went onto the boom slang website & ordered a PLUG & PLAY loom $230 (i think), pretty much that easy !!! i also bought a wide band so i could do my own tuning. by the end of it it has all cost me just over a grand but thats also including things like pressure sensors & O2 clamps for the turbo,

& how does it work u ask ???

really well, it can get interesting as your setting up the software depending on your lap top, mine took a while to find all the right drivers & so forth, yet my mrs one was plug & play, BUT one you get it working its unreal, you have timing control, & full fuel control up or down...... & with the wide band installed you can do your own tunning !!!

im 98% tuned now with 3 plays with the laptop (tuning the avo turbo kit) & i only have a couple of cells which are hard to capture on the street, so i will now be looking at a new clutch & putting it on a dyno, but that should not be a lot of work at all & i'll also start playing with my timing a i have it very safe for now, in saying that im still using ulp on 6psi & it goes hard with no pinging...

so all in all im really happy with the emu & really feel for the people that spend twice as much to do the same task
want to join the mazda car club of australia?, for more info please p.m me
