What about relocating the water bottle and all that jazz? And the metal water hose as well?

Slammer had a fairly short coldside intake made for his NA6 (AFM removed).

From memory Tuffy exhausts or a similar name made it up for a reasonable price.

Where you hiding Slambo?

Looks good Astro! Make sure you put some shielding around it so you don't suck water up going through puddles or even heavy rain. Might not be so good being that low right behind an opening.

yep thats sorted

didn't have a picture of the piping under the car.

the air filter is a shielded one and points up in the cavity.

as long as i don't drive in flooded gutters i'll be fine. :)

good work!

haha i can't beleive how quickly you got that done! you really are a man of action. that would have taken me about 2 months of research and umming and ahhing about all the little details.

i've had this turbo sitting on my shelf for 6 months now . i wish i had your get up and go! :D

turbo is a bit harder and alot more expensive..

this mod cost me $500 all up.. $100 per HP gain.. yay hehehe

i have my turbo for a good 6 months before i passed it on to a much more enthused turboist.

can't wait to drive home.

so now you just need to tune your vpc thingo to get max power out of yr setup. is that even possible? can you tune that thing to lean it out a bit? as it sounds like yr a bit rich now from what you've said?

if not it might be possible to add a DFA to lean it out to get better response and more power. that's be another $150 or so.

yeh perhaps... that might help me even more.

i have to get on a dyno to see air/fuel

my a/f meter isn't the best..

but i have tuned it better now.. idle was the main problem...

ive been turning the knobs the wrong way.. instead of leaning out the mixture i've been adding more... alot more.. hence the puddles of fuel.. but i figured it out this morning on the way to the garage. i got it about 8% leaner than what it was and its like driving it with the stock afm back on. I also moved the temp sensor on to the throttle body. tapped a nice screw hole just behind the throttle body to get a better and more accurate air temp.

im sure if i have the DFA it will get even better..

i also bumped the timing up to 16 degrees advanced.

I did on my NB. I just cut the wires half way, put some new wire between the cuts and connected with spade connectors. Easy as that! 8)

Sounds strange to me that one side of the engine is called the cold side. Is there really any difference? It gets bloody hot in my entire engine bay. Shoudn't we be using the ambient or Outside air rather than sucking hot air from under the bonnet?
