Man that is a great result on just 5 psi! I've seen these cars make that sorta power on 8psi!

Kinda intersted to know what wastegate your using to keep it so low :?

Oh and did i mention.....

YOU NEED MORE BOOST :D

i don't know but he said he can adjust it more if i want more but told me to drive it for a few months as is. told me to keep an eye on a certain vacum that comes out of the outlet cam cover. if it spits oil then it ain't liking it too much.
he said he was really really happy with it so far. every one in the shop was quite surprised with it.
he also made a phone calls to different people that have turbo-ed these motors.
also said the clutch is fine but said the diff was acting a little strange.
he doesn't think its a stock LSD either
he said when he stood on it it would snap into LSD. said it might not have the right diff oil in it.

If he wants to know waht they are capable of, tell him to give Jon Blanch a call (they go way back).

Jon looks after a few turbo B6 and BP engines too... Including stock engines with a crapload of boost!

he has put a 2jz motor in it. it runs under 10sec
he also uses it for street use

dunksy you will not be disappointed, if you find yourself someone decent to tune it then look out

i still cannot believe how hard it goes, this cannot have a stock clutch/diff in it. the clutch should be slippin. it was a jdm and when i got it it had a boost gauge on it. i suspect it was turboed in japan. i also run the exhaust in a straight line which would help the turbo allot. when i first bought it it had no muffler and some sort of motorbike baffle on it. i got one exhaust put on and got rid of the baffle thingy but kept the exhaust system in a straight line. this is why Anthony must have been quizzing me about the exhaust system.
I'm off for another drive up Arthur seat :)

Hey Glen73,
Just wanted to ask you what the total cost of the ECU and tuning was? including all the auto electrician stuff? I was interested in the complete price of the wire-in Microtech & associated tuning costs compared to other ECUs.
Thanks!

around $1200. i had to pay for other stuff aswell, new inj etc which isnt
included in that price.
ecu installation $380
they had to trailer the car around to an auto elec aswell so there was another $150
tunning normally $400 but mine was $500 as they were doing alot of problem solving.
so i guess it should not be any higher than $1000 to $1200
but if you see the results 126kw atw is pretty bloody good off 5psi.
i'm very very happy with it :) :) :)

Tuning - $500
Total - $2080 (excluding towing) ?

For those of us who are hoping to turbo their car in the next 6 --> 12 months, what was the total cost of your project?

Thanks!
