What are the auto transmissions like in the NC and ND in regard to durability.

Might be worth having a look on the big forum <https://miata.net> as auto transmissions are likely to be more representative there, as well as more active members with experience of NC & ND auto transmissions.

Are you talking durability, as in long-lived, high mileage stock cars, hard use (track) stockish cars, or in boosted applications? It makes a difference.
I remember the manual ND boxes were terrible, seem to be fixed now, but I know nothing about the autoboxes in either NC or ND.
Clubman's suggestion is a good one, there will be more users on the big forum with them.

Auto in the NC2 whether using manual with paddles or stick on the consul or just using Auto full time has been good in ours
