No drive out of last corner at Sandown on Sunday. Hi revs, no drive. Thinks, bad gear change but no, tried several gears but no drive. I think it's broken clutch. Don't know what was in it. I don't think it's gearbox or diff as I could only hear, whoosh whoos while cousting into the pits and a bad smell. There was no hint of failure just before it went.
Anyway, if its a clutch what do you think I should put in it. The car is mainly a track car but I want to drive to the tracks so no all out track puck clutch.
I'm only new to MX5's.

Stock turbo, Exedy sports tuff (about 600 bucks).
For a car with a motor and a better turbo, Exedy cushioned button, about $900.

How did the 215 Yoko's behave for you ?
I'll be using your 225's at Winton in April for the interstate challenge day.

Re: Clutch Recomendation - Track SE
I don't know. I only got a practice session in (6 laps) for 1.5 seconds off pb before doing the clutch. With traffic I could not be certain about the results. Gut feel is, I don't think the 215' are better, but I would need a few more good laps to be certain about the comparison and some changes to the suspension settings perhaps.
I felt there was quite a bit more to be had from the setup. The teperatures were low and the wind was strong headwind on the main straight.
On a good day, there may not be anything in it. All I know is that in IPRA the winningest tire was the AO50 in 225x15x50M so that was my go to.
But I'll keep on trying. The contact patch is about thhe same between the 215 and 225, the rolling diameter is less and the weight is less so I think it needs more proof on track before a conclusion.
