I'd rather give a forumite who has the kit and expertise some beer than give money to a mechanic to do this work. Partly because I no longer trust mechanics too much (see various other posts) and partly because I'd like to see how it's done for when I start doing the suspension bushes.
I'm generally off Fridays and Sundays and naturally happy to travel a reasonable distance. I promise to bring cardboard to catch the oil leaks which won't be sorted till March.

Which bushes are you installing? If they're poly you can push them in by hand, but if you're installing standard or Mazda competition bushes, you'll need a hydraulic press to get them in. Just a heads up.

Poly. Being the novicest of novice mechanics I have not the faintest idea how to do the disassembly/assembly to get at the bushes.

As it happens SHMBO and I are including Sydney in a near-future holiday so the car can be left with an expert there to fix one of its major issues.
Meanwhile, can anyone in or around Melbourne help with the diff bushes? It's remove the existing (original) ones and install Energy Suspension HYPERFLEX polyurethane ones.

Do you have room to do it at your place?
It shouldn't be that hard I'm sure i can help.
Need it done before 31-Jan?

Room yes, skill no. Level double garage. Have decent jack, axle stands, some tools, heat gun. No hydraulic press as mentioned in the destructions. Before 31st would be good if possible. That only leaves evenings or this Friday as I have to work this weekend and next Friday in order to get a pass-out for the 31st.

There might be a speedo sensor, some rollbar padding, and some spacers in the deal somewhere as well.
