Hi All,
just changed fluid in my diff (and gearbox) - but everywhere I see on the net (and we all know the interwebs can't lie!) says around 1 litre to fill the diff,
Mine took around 650 - 700ml to the bottom of the fill plug, have I got something wrong?? -
just checking before I drive it to destruction!

Re: diff fill quantity?
Previous owner must have filled it through the blocked breather - well over one litre came out - and when I took the fill plug out there was a steady stream for way too long
At least now I know why the seals are leaking!!!

Re: diff fill quantity?
Also remember, when the book says 1litre that's for a bone dry open diff.
It will never empty 100%, so will always be a bit less than a litre in real use, and if you have a Torsen it will likely be even less (since the Torsen centre takes up more space in the housing)

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
