I'm supposed to leave now on an 800km drive into rural Australia and can't contact my husband because he's already there so I'm hoping you can help me.
On Thursday a noise started coming from my clutch. It only happens when the car is turned on. It occurs as I depress and as I release the pedal it is a grinding/sawing/squealing kind of sound. It has become louder over the last two days. At first it only occurred in first gear but now also happens in reverse. If I over-rev before releasing the pedal it does not happen. I have checked the fluids all is fine.
Wondering what your thoughts are on what the problem could be and whether it is wise to attempt 800km with it in this state?
Thanks in advance
Clutch

Re: Clutch
I drove 2000km with a spigot bearing that was like 95% seized.
Also it sounds a lot like your spigot bearing is playing up.
