Exhaust for NA

Hey everyone,

I've tried looking around the forums but couldn't find anything too helpful..

I'm looking to buy a full exhaust system for my NA6 (including headers). Down the track I'll eventually add some form of forced induction but for the time being the engine is staying stock.

Is there a certain brand renowned for compatibility / performance on the NAs? Would it be wise to buy/Install in parts (reason being funds) and if so, what part of the system to start with?

there are lots on this subject. Try a search for Town and Country and that will pull up plenty of info. Best approach get it done professionally- its not that expensive. I have heard the experts often say the NA header/ exhausts are very good.

If you can't replace the whole system in one go, then do hi flow cat & cat back initially followed later by headers.

Hi Chris,

I'am pretty sure I saw you yesterday on Quakers Hill Parkway turning out from Nirimba. Car is looking good with the new suspension and roll bar.

re: exhaust, save yourself the time and money and PM Nitrodann. He will knock something up for you that will be effective based on his experience at a competitive price.

Even though I didn't see the drivers face, I thought that was your car haha

I was thinking why were you still rocking the stock daisies even though you have new rims lol

I hope you do realise with a full exhaust (headers & exhaust), you can only expect negligible gains (6-10HP) for the price outlay.

If you ever plan going forced induction, put the funds in an interest account for the future fund for brakes/diff or the other hardware

Yeah, I realise that. I want to eventually supercharge. Been told that it's a good idea to do forced induction and exhaust simultaneously.. But the funds are lacking at the moment Haha. Hence I want to get Exhaust done first!

My logic is that forced induction would be restricted by stock Exhaust, but a new system wouldn't have any negative effects on a stock engine.. and if I'm going to do both eventually, I'd start with an exhaust..

An exhaust for a NA engine would obtain more than the required back pressure compared to an exhaust for forced induction, therefore you will be back at square one investing in a new exhaust in future, that is more free flowing/suitable for FI.

Food for thought...save your pennies if FI is your ultimate goal in modifying your car and do it all properly at once. Just my opinion.
