Sorry to be vague but i have no idea what the rattle is.
I just today put in a 52mm ASI radiator into a 90 Eunos (with aircon and p/s) on first start there was a slight rattle so before moving the car i tightened every bolt and it went away now it seems to rattle under braking (doesn't have to be hard braking) and when the clutch is in. I have just noticed the aircon hoses were very close to a pulley on the engine due to the added thickness so i have unbolted it and it is sitting away from the pulley, haven't been able to test it yet (this is all just happening now) but i wanted to come on here to ask advice:
1. Has anyone installed a thicker radiator and had a similar issue?
2. anyone installed an ASI radiator before and discovered stuff which may help this issue?
3. anyone know why something would rattle under braking and when the clutch is pushed in when i haven't touched any of that today and has been perfectly fine until now
and lastly linked to the last question
4. does the engine move forward a few MM depending on being on a hill, under braking etc (rattle seems to be louder when going downhill which would make the engine closer to aircon pipes if it moved at all.
**by rattle i mean fast tempo tapping sound**
sorry for all the questions but it's just a weird problem to diagnose
Just changed to ASI 52mm, new rattle????

Check the air con pipes and the fan mounts carefully.

Pretty common for the engine mounts to be cracked/broken, but that usually only causes rock and gear selection issues. For the engine to shift forwards you'd need the diff mounts to be pretty sloppy too. (Engine is connected to the diff by the PPF in an MX5)

So i moved the aircon pipes and just tested it seems to be all okay, would like a permanent fix to it rather than bending a hose will probably mock up a bracket to hold it closer to the radiator (further forward). should be able to get also a good amount of distance from the pulley as well, probably on 3cm gap now, would like more for peace of mind. would you suggest this or should it be fine as is with 3cm gap?

it only needed to move forward like 1mm to get it to touch, it was that close. but mounts being broken, i am having trouble with the transmission where if i change to 2nd gear (only really happens on 2nd) really quickly it grinds, i assumed it was just a synchro going but since i may need new engine mounts with this issue would faulty mounts do this to a transmission? and diff got changed out less than 100km ago, I imagine mx-5 plus where i got it done would have changed the mounts if they were that bad???
