Cleaning HLA's

Postby jordy94 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 11:44 pm

I've got a set of HLA's which I'm trying to clean. I've read the miata.net guide, and searched heaps on how to pull the plunger from the housing. I got 2 pulled apart by using pliers on the inner lip.

But after trying the other 14, none of them are coming apart. I've tried the 'bashing with a hammer' method, but they still wont budge. I assume the clip ring is preventing it from coming out. Any other suggestions on how to get them out?

Cheers,
Jordan

Manga Blue has had his apart to clean - hopefully he'll see this. Might be worth noting his comments about cleaning though:
