My latest BP 1.8 dyno results

Postby wozzah1975 » Mon Apr 22, 2013 7:32 pm

Though I'd share this. One of the guys in my club liked my BP conversion so much he has done one himself, except this one is turbod :)

Basically, the engine is a BP 1.8. Internally it has forged rods and pistons (eagles and wiseco from memory), block done by himself, and is fitted with one of my std valve head and mild cam packages. It runs a Brae Fabrications Exhaust manifold with a TDO5 20G Turbo fitted. It has taken a little bit of getting to it's current state, but now it's a screamer.

260rwkw on 24lbs on a 7200rpm limiter to date. This is a video of one of the earlier runs on less boost.

So ... beware of white (or is it silver?) Escorts then! Couldn't you get the top 3rd of the curve a bit flatter? :D

What a super clean MK2 Escort with power to boot to match! (although, I will always have a soft spot for MK1's after seeing Geoff Newton's Cosworth powered one in the 90's
)

I will be interested to hear what he pulls down the quarter if he does a run in the future.

Yes, beware! :) I'm not doing the tuning on this one, someone else is. It has been back since for a tidy up, and there are still some minor issues to sort I believe.

I'm looking to do a similar build with a new GTX2863R. I need to select the right cams for the job though. Aiming for 250rwkw.
