Fuel injector clean.

Postby mx5lover » Sat Aug 25, 2012 7:07 pm

Hi all,
One of my fuel injector has vacumm leak again. :frown:
They are a bit old(23 years) and may not flow well, and also my 5 has really high fuel
consumption recently, I think it is time to do a ultrasonic cleaning and flow test.
Is there any a recommend place in Sydney( prefer west sub ). Any idea how much will be going
to cost?
Car: NA6
THANKS

nearly any service place should be able to do it

last time i had injectors cleaned (years ago) it was around the $20 per injector, cleaned, tested and new seals
MY07 NC, Mazdaspeed Body, Ohlins, Full GWR Exhaust, 17x9 RPF1's, 4.1FGR and lots lots more

Do you take the injectors to the shop or just let mechanic do the whole job.

either. one will cost you alot more though.

last time i got injectors cleaned, i just asked around my local area and got the phone number of a cleaner mob. then took my injector to them. $100 including new seals and filters.

Go and see Mick at wenty spares and performance, he has an mx5 turbo himself and does injector cleaning/servicing, doesn't charge much either.

I'll try wenty part & performance next week.
Just one more question, when I take the injector out,
what do I use to block the holes to prevent dust go into the engine.
Thanks
