Actually let me give you an example I see every day.

Its the medias fault and general ignorance.

I work at a shop selling hifi as a dayjob.

People genuinely wants to buy the $5100 60" series8 samsung LED over the $2300, much nicer picture quality 60" series8 samsung plasma(both televisions have identical features with the difference being only the screen), all because today tonight says that energy was expensive and that plasmas use more power.

Never having stopped to do the maths and work out that the cost is $70 a year difference for the average family.

The drama people make over electricity pricing and petrol is ridiculous, and I wont subscribe to spending hundreds and hundreds trying to same pennies.

Read you but at no stage did I ever mention anything about COST, my comments have all been about the economy of the cars - nothing for me to fill 2-3 times a weekend when having fun!! If I worried about the cost then it would be time to sell and plan for the retirement village!!

As for the cost of running TV's I won't debate the matter of what costs what etc, but i will say I have EXPERT knowledge of what costs what in power usage in the home - I constantly run into people complaining about the cost of electricity in their homes and ask if they have 4-5 mins I can answer them quite easy!! In your job it's just a matter when someone asks the question what uses what to show them the wattage of each unit, do the maths and satisfy them!! I'm in a different 'industry' now to that but still stay in touch

Up here people with $800+ bills a quarter!! Some are happy to just pay but some unfortunates simply don't know, so blame the kids laptops etc simply because they are always on them

If it costs it costs - end of story!!

For the record, my power bill per quarter? - under $145

Dann, if you get a chance could you PM me the wattage of a plasma in store and also wattage of a similar sized 'non-plasma', just for my interest
