So you want a full kit, but with no management.

Mania or AVO can do it.

many independents can also do it, such as myself.

What sort of money do you budget for it?

It's meant to be a budget build but I don't mind spending a few grand

You'll soak that up in about 5 mins

$800 pistons and rods
$800ish tubular exhaust manifold
$800 cams
$1300 head package

Thats $2700 gone already........... before you have a turbo, do machining, fabricate intake pipes etc, tune it, clutch to suit or any other parts that you WILL need.

To do it properly, make it reliable and to make the numbers you're talking I'd be factoring in at least $5-6000. If you're wanting to spend $3000 I'd be setting my power target lower,

Everything he said.

If you set your power goal at 160 odd rwkw then a LOT of money can be saved.
On a street car with a good nick engine you would need,
Basic manifold
Turbo
2.5inch DP/exhaust (around 2000-2500 so far)
550cc injectors (150 for 2nd hand rx7 ones)
Clutch (couple hundred on ebay)
Ecu/tune (from 1000 to 2000)

And pretty soon after that you will need a 1.8 diff, as the stock one will explode.

na6 turbo engine

Postby spikey » Mon May 28, 2012 8:31 pm

I will be taking my 1.6 turbo setup out in the next few months, I will be doing a 13bt conversion, it will be complete, B6 engine with B6t pistons, B6t turbo cams, tubular steampipe manifold, Subaru turbo vf22 ball bearing turbo with a smaller P15 exhaust housing, stainless dumpipe with splitter, GTX 360cc injectors, Greddy intercooler with custom piping, Haltech E6x computer with a plug and play loom, Spitfire coils, this is a different turbo setup to the one I had, so It will need to be retuned, I will get that done before I take it out, but if you want to go through the build yourself that's fine, just follow the recommendations by Dan and Wozzah.
I have a also got a B6 head that had been ported and 1mm oversize valves fitted, it is all wrapped up ready to go, but decide not to put it on due to doing the rotary conversion $1200ono
