What oil do you use?

Postby Zcootz » Mon May 21, 2012 3:54 pm

The factory manual that I have made it more confusing for me as there is no clear cut grade suggested.

I understand how why people get annoyed with the same topic coming up again and again but if you don't like that, just ignore the thread, that takes less energy than beating up the guy that started it.

I take Bobs point about reviewing and adding to an existing thread if technology has changed and think thats a fair comment.
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

have you thought about reading the manual? It's written in there, in fact I think there's a whole page devoted to what oil to use.

No good reading that. A NA manual was written in 1988, and a NB one was written in 1997. They are very outdated considering the advancements in both miniral and synthetic oils for the past 24 years...

Read this, the best oil thread on this forum:-

wholeheartedly disagree. in a road car you want the thinnest oil possible when the engine is cold. a thinner, faster flowing oil provides more lubrication.

but sure, if your motor is on it's last legs, thicker oil can help keep prevent the oil from seeping past worn rings.
