all i can suggest is confirm temp gauge is accurate? check heat sensors? and also inspect for signs of bad head gasket, bubbles in radiator, or streaks in oil?

good luck
Can you remember your first drive?

Check the line between the overflow tank and the radiator to make sure it isnt blocked.

From being in the same boat several years ago: buy a new radiator.

Is the fan actually turning when the temp gets hot?

I recently just replaced the motor of my radiator fan as the plug got loose and it will intermittently lose connection and stop the fan. Wiggling it usually fixes the problem but only temporarily as the plug gets loose again on the next bumpy road.

So I got it replaced and it fixed the problem.
