6B factory extractors Info request
Romoved the heat shroud to find factory short length 4 into 1 extractors. Can anyone shed some light on these as they have become a talking point. Interesting manufacture where the weld is placed on the inside of the port. This is an american process according to the muffler boys. it looks extrenally good but internally it leaves a nasty lip on the pipe at the fange gasket. Anyhoe it is in the shop being tigged, die ground and linshed. Has anyone else done the same or know what I am talking about??? Is there an insulated gasket for the exhaust side of the 6B readily available.

I would think the benefit of insulating the exhaust side wouldn't be worth the bother. Happy to be proved wrong.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Mine are at "Exotic" in Brisbane. The workshop is far from exotic so it the prices which I like... let you know the results. As for the heat wrap I can get HPC on this for under $200 not that I will right now. Nice looking artenative to Wrap... Black or Aluminium. The is a heat sheld with rock wool insutation avail. Mate uses on his Lotus (cringe) to great effect. Gives a modern factory look... $65 retail for entry level but comercially available should be better and cheaper.

Yeah know the lip your speaking of.
Did the grind a out to clean in off, but later replaced the factory extractors with new ones.
Much improved top end and breathing ability.
Think the factory ones must be a little bit restrictive.

Do you mean that the replacments improved top end or the mod to the originals helped???
do you think the mod made any noticable difference????

Mod really didn't make a great deal of difference.
New extractors did.
Bigger diameter primary pipes got it breathing better.
