Ebay extractors?

I purchased a set of mild steel “Hurricane” brand 4-2-1 extractors from Liverpool Exhausts in Sydney then had them ceramic coated silver inside and out, then a 2nd coating of black on the outside. I feel this is the optimum choice for a header upgrade, (no it’s not cheep $360 for the ceramic coating alone  )It took me 12 months to save up, but worth it.
Hey Ted,

What was the reason for so much ceramic coating?

I think they should - but with a set of xforce costing $360 I don't see why you would bother!!

Yes they are China made but I haven't heard of any huge quality issue about them.

It's actually the Americans who have more issue with exhaust header clearance. Remember their steering column is on the exhaust side, ours is on the intake. The racing beats are pretty big, they run really close to the A/C lines. Thankfully I don't have those anymore

Know this is months later, but might help someone search the threads for answers. I have fitted some OBX headers from USA on a nb8b with no clearance dramas with bell housing. You will have to remove the bracket that the stock ones bolt onto the bell housing though. This is a pain but the bolts can just be screwed back into the gb no worries.

Once you fit them you will have to put a new cat in as the cat on 01+ is in the secondaries. Good torque bump.

Heard a few people say they didnt like the sound. I have to argree that due to stainless steels harder structure it absorbs virbation less well than mild still. To combat this is wrapped the back foot of the headers before the flange with that high temp header wrap. I didnt want to do the whole headers as iv got a heatshield and was worried about cracking cheapers units as alot of forumites had mentioned this. The wrapping of just that last foot made a marked improvment and mellowed out the exhaust quite a bit. No more vibratey sounds (and yes iv check all the heatshields and the like), had it up on a hoist and revving it to pinpoint it was the headers themselves making noise.

Hope this answers any questions. PM me if you want any more info.

I had a set of OBX stainless 4-1 on my 99 over in the states for 4 years. I had mine wrapped and no problems at all, though I am aware of others having cracking issues with theirs.

I really was a huge fan of these headers - the welds were very nice, and the tubing was not paper-thin like some other e-bay cheapies I have seen.

That said, they are a direct and unashamed knock off of the Racing Beat 4-1 design. Many folks out there may have a problem with this kind of gratuitous plagiarism... I myself choose to make no comment and take no sides on the issue - suffice to say that I did like my OBX headers.
