It doesn't really serve a purpose if you have a proper gasket. Everytime I have used it it decintergrates, maybe due to excessive heat?

Ahhh, possibly. It says it can stand up to 300*C. If you used it on the turbo would it get hotter than that? Could be reason. :)

I'm sure my EGTs would be over 300*C at teh manifold even NA...

Sorry to bring up the dead, but I just went and got a manifold gasket from auto1, and there are two in the packet, both the same silver fabricy material. Does one of these replace the metal mazda gasket, or do both of them, or do i put one of them on with the mazda metal gasket??
