Where are you located? I've heard MX5Mania in Sydney have done good work on Wolfs.
BTW, hunting idle with lights on can mean low 12v power to coils or injectors which gets a bit critical when the alternator is not spinning fast enough to deliver much charge. Flattish battery? MAIN relay problems?
