Question regarding SMB Exhaust, Urgent :(

Postby twinlol » Sat Oct 02, 2010 8:23 pm

Hey guys,

Wouldn't need to post this, long weekend and all means we can't contact SMB directly.

My friend and I have both purchased header-back systems for our NB8Bs.
Curiously, there is 2 holes in the system, one before the catalytic converter ( which we have a sensor for) and one at the start of of the midpipe for another sensor, which for our car, does not exist. as there is no similar hole on the stock midpipe.
See picture:

This picture shows both the holes in the midpipe and the catalytic converter.
The question is, since we only have the one sensor, what should be we fill this (threaded) hole with?
Would a bolt suffice?
What are our other options?
Also, others with this system, did yours also have 2 holes?

Just fill it with a bolt as an NB8B doesn't have multiple oxy sensors. Maybe down the track if you go turbo it'll be useful for a wideband if your self tuning.

Being the long weekend, couldn't find a size 18 bolt to fill this hole, so I just bought a cheap O2 sensor to fill the gap, worked a treat.

Other issue was fitment, the cat pipe was touching the a brace and making a shocking rattling noise all the time, using a washer as a spacer, I managed to drop the brace off the cat, no more noise :D
