Update: once ticking sound has done its thing, it is followed by a knocking sound with squealing from the fan belt area. I'm taking it down to mx 5 factory to get the roll bar fitted hopfuly they can help me with the engine problem.

Knocking is never good..
The viscosity of the oil matters, because when its cold its harder for the oil to circulate, or so i think. So technically it should go away when warm, maybe an oil change might give some better perspective?
