torsen LSDs do not contain clutch plates, as such cannot be shimmed.

What kind of torsen is it T1 or T2?

I had a T2 apart the other day and it had belleville washers inside that can be arrange to put more preload on the side gears. I have another one to do this coming week so will find out if there is any it that unit.

There would be a way of doing it but very difficult and would probably not last. It would involve taking all of the helical gears and side gears out and the finding a washer to push the side gears closer to the middle then reassembling it all making sure the pins that hold the helical gears in are nice and tight and wont eventually work their way out, once they are removed they lose a bit of the tension. Unfortunately the type 1 only relies on those pins to hold it altogether.
