There was a time I would have bothered to do just this.Davex3 wrote:giro-pilot wrote:hi all today driving my mx5 nb8a at 60 kmh it stated to rev to 300 then drop very low revs no power car stop reluctant to restart started drove home it great
I will attempt to translate.
Good day Gentlemen.
Today while driving home my in MX5, NB8A. I was approaching 60KM/H, around 3,000RPM ,when all of a sudden the rpm dropped very low and the car lost most of its power then stalled. It was hard to restart, when i did manage to restart it i drove straight home.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
Regards,

giro it might be best if you got the local mechanic to check it out for you- it is a bugger getting stranded with a car that will not go. Hope you get it sorted out

Jeff, sounds like you have the dreaded NB8A coil pack problem.
Have a chat to Sean at the President's BBQ on Sunday and he'll tell you all about it.
