About the whirring noise?

I no longer hear it, I've learned to filter it out ;)

But the couple people I've asked about it (STM, my mate) reckon its the throwout bearing and that it's not really a problem. Not gonna bother my mechanic with it.

Thanks for that, reason I asked is that my box started making the same whirring noise when the clutch is pressed ans sounds like it's supercharged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.

erm, mine makes the noise only when the clutch isn't depressed. (i.e. foot off the clutch) as soon as you tap the clutch in a fraction the noise stops.

Supercharged sound eh? Did you replace your timing belt recently?

Yeah, that's what I meant. Typing on an iPhone blows. :)

It's definitely 'box related. Noise disappears in 4th and 5th gear.
