Where to get low comp pistons?

The best pistons for MX5's are the Flyin Miata Wisecos - every time. They are differently designed than the catalogue wisecos and have been proven time and time again.:)

If i only want to be pulling 145-160kw, i wont need to put low comp pistons in will i?

I mean, the bottom end is reconditioned, ported head and cams, 2 1/4 inch extractors back, wolf v500 ECU, lightened flywheel. All done right. All i need now is a snail :D :D

Good tuning is the key. Sean was running 15PSI on the standard engine with a good tune and it lasted a while. He then rebuilt with standard gear, except for rings, and ran 18PSI for a while.

It ended up eventually blowing up each time, but that's a lot more boost than you'd expect from the stock gear. All in the tune.

Try SPS in Dandenong, they've been around for a long time and soley make custom forged pistons for any application.

The kit I bought was for a Turbo 1600 MX5 making about 200 RWHP at 8-10lb of boost
Mazda Miata 1.6 and 1.8 HP Engine kit
- Comp Ratio 8.6:1
- Exhaust Valve Size 1.6L 26.20x5.94x105.35mm /Nitrided/ Stk size (1100)
- Gasket Set 1.6L B6D
- Intake Valve 1.6L 31x5.96x105.35mm/Nitrided/Stk. size (1100)
- Main 10 over
- Forged Piston Bore 79.00mm
- Forged H Beam Rod 10 over
- Valve Spring Dual Springs 74lbs@34.2mm
All the above goodies were about Aus$2300 landed
The head gasket was crap - we used a multilayer steel
