Haynes repair manual covers cars up to '97 if memory serves and this is available no charge in many libraries- photocopy the section. Many library services are now on line. I would urge anyone doing this at home to use very sturdy carefully placed stands and lift the car to get them under with great care. You need to get it up pretty high to get reasonable access unless of course you have a pit or hoist.

I probably would be too chicken to do clutch install on just jackstands alone.
I got some giant ramps just for the job, I have never used them before but I think as you drive up them and they eventually tilt foward and car becomes level...
I have been reading the instructions a few times over from miata net and the book by Keith Tanner etc.
Seems straight foward my only concern is that Im not mechanically minded and Im physically quite week.
I'm doing it over the Easter weekend if anyone is intereted or wants to have a look pm me.

I picked up a PBR heavy duty clutch kit for $250 last week,
only thing missing was the spigot bearing
