Losing coolant

Postby marcusus » Sun May 03, 2009 12:48 am

Yeah, I think that was basically my issue. I was up at Mania the last weekend for something else, and figured whilst I was there I'd get Dave to check it out. Pressure testing it seemed OK, but Dave reckoned the main hose from the radiator to the engine was gone. He pulled it off, and there was a lot of gunk at the connection points, plus a little bit of white on top of the fan housings themselves. Replaced the hose, and so far so good, although it's only been about a week so far.

Losing coolant

The other place to check is the carpet in both foot wells. If it's not a leaky head gasket / water pump / hose etc ... it could be the heater core.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
