Jimmy's gearbox reseal and clutch install

To say that our Rolla has been round the block a few times would be an understatement. She's ah, well used. The folks bought her new back in '92 and since then has been used every single day of every year since and has never broken down apart from flat batterys. She had endured 3 youths learning how to drive and subsequently 3 P platers, travelled over 300,000km with nothing more than the usual services, has rear ended someone (my brother, hence all the other cracks etc in the bumper), had a cyclist plough into her while parked (this was funny), been broken into countless times, rolled through a garage door because mum forgot to use the hand brake, had a tree fall on her, and most recently, rear ended a Commodore. It is without a doubt THE most reliable car i have ever know and a true credit to Toyota. It seems that no matter what you do to it, it just keeps on going. Much like the Hilux as seen on Top Gear, although not as extreme!

The wheels were last aligned about 3 months ago. We usually get them done once a year by the folks mechanic. Something could well be bent or misaligned that we don't know about but at the end of the day, it's not worth getting it done as it's money down the drain and is being sold (sadly but hopefully) in the next few weeks. We're most likely putting it up for $2000 and thats being really optimistic. We're just hoping to get what we can and move on. I will shed a tear when it goes though.

Ah i had a good laugh today! We jump started the car okay and then realised that the reverse lights were on while the car was in neutral  It seems that i got the two sensors mixed up and put them in the wrong way around! The reverse lights go off when in gear and the car now suffers from idle droop. I can't be bothered switching them around at the moment so it will stay like it until next weekend.
