Do you have the torsen 2 center only, or the full housing and the tail shaft and the axles.
The reason I ask is the torsen center will not fit in a standard NA 1.6l diff housing. Also you need the tail shaft and axles shafts to suit the torsen.
If you have the torsen already fitted to the full housing and drive shaft and axles the swap over can be done by one person, but two people would be easier.

Ok. The diff centre can be swapped over. Here is link to the miata.net garage site with instructions and pictures for removing/installing a diff. In addition try doing a search on the big forum you should gets some hits there ==>> http://forum.miata.net/vb/
And yes you should take the housing to a diff company to have the torsen fitted, unless you have the knowledge and tools to check and adjust the backlash.
