Morning all.
After much research and mucking about, I think I've finally decided on a design for my intake system.
Even though I’m sure the cowl style intake works a treat, I like many others, was unconvinced about the idea cutting a hole in the firewall. So I started looking at alternatives.
Now the biggest issue that kept coming up was where can you get a source of cold air from in the NA’s engine bay? I eventually decided on going with cutting a hole in the headlight cover that I’m hoping will end up looking something like mx52nv’s (hooray for plagiarism).
This will then feed straight into some kind of exposed air filter (haven’t figured out exactly yet, waiting to see what fits best) sitting in its own enclosed part of the engine bay. Between some foam and some sheet aluminium, I should be able to fairly well seal off the right hand side of the engine bay, effectively turning the whole area into one giant airbox.
Having said that, its all still just theory at the moment and could just fail horribly.
Thoughts? Criticisms?
