WANTED!! 100+ rwkw in an NA nb8a daily

Postby irwin83r » Sun Nov 09, 2008 12:33 pm

ive got a head on a flowbench getting done at the moment, staying with standard valve sizes and springs but changing to a tomie pon cam and haltech ecu. im confident the car will make over 100rwkw on the standard bottom end on most dynos. the car also has a set of 4-1 extractors that have been ceramic coated, straight through high flow 2.5" exhaust and a cold side CAI ducted from the front of the car.

ive also got a bottom end rebuild kit on the way with high comp pistons but im tempted to sell the pistons and buy some low comps and put it towards a turbo race motor for late next year.

And it is a very pleasant daily driver, good power everywhere, will trickle along on light throttle and pull smoothly from down low in any gear.

I have just swapped the Xforce headers for RB 4;1"s and fitted a a steel cat. Will get it to Maztech for a fuel pump change and dyno so will be interesting to see where it is at.

Given the NB8A,s better head my mods on an NB8A should see you pretty close to 100rwkw on a Dyno Dynamics dyno.

No real power difference felt with the header change but a different louder exhaust note which now seems to dominate where before it was the induction noise that was most noticeable. This is different from my previous experience where the Xforce were actually quieter than the the standard header!(EDIT Just realised that the extra sound may also be down to the smaller steel cat!).May quieten slightly with a few klms under the wheels. Midrange seems good so perhaps RB's claims re their headers are right, but will be interesting to see what happens on the dyno.
