3.9 diff gear ?

Who know where I can get my hands on some 3.9 diff gears cheap?

Where they only available in late modle mx5's or can you get them out of Van like the 4.4?

Any help welcome.

I think they were only in the 10th Anniversary edition MX5's over here. Pretty sure there is a Jap model with them though in the NB's, not sure if it was all 6 speeds but I thought the 3.606 was Australia only. Japan/Usa both got 3.9's.

yeah, find a US turbo owner and arrange a swap for a 3.6

I have a standard NA diff you could buy. I am not sure of the ratio though..

I think NA6A's are 4.44:1 and the NB8A and NA8's were 4.1's. So your diff isn't the 3.9 he's after.

The gears used in the NB's are the same that were in the Early Mazdas like RX2/Capella, Series 1 / 2 and 3 RX7's.
I have a diff centre with a set if you want them.


If you have an NA I'm not sure.

I have an NB8c from Japan (now my SP race car) which came with a 6 speed and a 3.9 torsen.

I also have a standard NB 4.1 which I have a Kaaz Centre for but I want to stick to the 3.9 ratio and keep the torsen as a spare.

So I'm only after the 3.9 gear not a diff or a centre. If you have a 3.9 gear I will happily buy it of you Duane?
