Currently looking at getting an oil pan baffle from Maruta in japan.
On their web site it has a section on the bottom of the page stating:
Installation of the oil pan for NB8 C (latter model) to NA8C and NB8C (ealy model)
The oil pan for NB8C (later model) adds the engine block strength.
Especially even a stock crank baffle can be changed from the NB8C(later model). It raises the block stiffness substantially.
On BP engine of NA8C and NB8C (ealy model), we strongly recommend the 3 parts set of Maruha oil pan baffle, a stock oil baffle (the crank side) of NB8 (later model) and a stock oil pan of NB8 (later model).
Now I'm presuming by this that the NB8C pan is different somehow from the earlier NA8 version and their recommending using the complete NB8C pan with its OEM baffle along with their baffle - am I reading this right?
Anyone know what the differences are - I'm presuming its just a stronger pan?

NB8C oil pan
It has a plate/girdle thingo that screws in the main caps and helps them from flexing. I'll see if I can find photos.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

It would be easier and cheaper just to drop in an NB8B motor...
